D.E.V.I.L. — or the Data Encrypted Viral Intelligence Link — is the semi-sentient master computer that runs just about everything in the 27th Century.  It loyally serves President Mark Dark, although lately it seems to have developed a mind of its own.

ACTION AGE ALERT!

This weekend, the Action Age Comics Last of the Southern Gentlemen World Tour 2012 continues when me and Chris hit the beach, and represent the Action Age hard at XCON WORLD 2012.

Guys, this convention is A) at a beach B) held during Bike Week and C) marks the print version debut of Monster Plus Vol. 2: Block Party 2666. So if you’re in the area, I can’t think of a single good reason not to show up.

And XCON’s not even our biggest show this year!  HEROESCON in Charlotte, NC is next month, and the entire Monster Plus team of me, JoJo, and Josh will be on hand to sign, sale, sketch, and swindle… but more on that later.

I think a pompous president makes a natural nemesis for a sassy teen, don’t you? Everyone’s indignant, everywhere, and I sure do like drawing that.

So we took a few weeks off to attend conventions, move to another city, and do some other comic stuff, but we’re pretty sure it only made you want us more, right?

With that settled, we now return you to our regularly scheduled monster comic.

It’s that time of year again, folks! CONVENTION SEASON!

Tomorrow, Chris and I are loading up on Sun Drop and Hostess cupcakes and hitting the road for Athens, GA for Fluke 2012 — the first stop on our Action Age Comics Last of the Southern Gentlemen World Tour 2012!

Held inside the legendary 40 Watt Club, Fluke is a celebration of all things mini-comic, small press, and ZINE, and offers a chance for anybody with a love of comics and a few extra bucks to set up a table and peddle their wares.  We’ll be there with copies of Awesome Hospital, Monster Plus, Impossible! and doing truly terrible sketches for one American dollar.

Plenty of other friends of the Action Age will be in attendance too, including Catie Donnelly – who drew up this year’s most excellent tour poster — and the gang from The Dollar Bin podcast.
